Pup-date
Our sweet little singleton pup that we named Jedi, survived and is now almost 10 weeks old! He is getting prepared for his forever home. As I take the time to watch him, enjoy his sweet little energetic personality, hug his puppy softness and accept the puppy kisses on my face, I know I will miss this little guy. He was a challenge as Sophie didn't really want anything to do with him after her c-section and what I think of as her period of grieving. I was worried that Sophie wouldn't come out of it the same.
Well, Sophie made her comeback and is now just as funny and sweet as she can be. She is retired now and will just lay in the grass and on her pillow as the sweet diva she is. Jedi, the little fighter, is really a special pup. As he has grown up to this point with no siblings, he has learned to play quietly by himself in his pen, and curl up to the stuffies in his crate to sleep. He is big enough to play with the big dogs now, as long as he doesn't bite them with his needle teeth! Ouch! When he and Sophie are left alone together they play and play. Poor Jedi gets smacked from time to time, but it is a GOOD thing as she is communicating to him how to play and be nice, what it means to play with another dog.
Jedi also has had the company of my son's dog, Zoey, who is a 15lb terrier mix who is NOT so patient with him! She growls at him a lot. She doen't like puppies in her space or near her dad. But Jedi tries just the same and loves having someone his own size to ask to play and chase!
I think Jedi ended up getting a lot of the socialization that he needed as a singleton pup. He is firmly on his way to being a terrific dog! Bye Bye baby Jedi. :-)
