A note on coat color

I can't tell you how many times in my life I've heard "oh that dog was a golden lab!

There is no such thing as a golden lab. Unless it is a cross of some kind. Goldens are Golden Retrievers and a different breed altogether. Golden Retrievers are long coated, long tailed and can be a bit taller than a Lab.

Labs come in Black, Chocolate and Yellow. Only. No such thing as a silver Lab so don't let anyone try to tell you that there is such a thing. If a dog has a silver coat and looks like a Lab, it means there is some Weimaraner in there somewhere!

Let's clarify Yellow. Yellow is the term for a light colored Lab and that can be pure white, tan, dark tan, and dark red which is called Fox Red. Fox Red is not a different color, it is within the genetic coat color of Yellow for a Labrador.

Ok just wanted to get that off my chest. So be sure to use the term Yellow when you are looking at the puppies on this site!
